Position Summary Information

Job Summary

USI’s Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Department seeks a Senior Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for the department Director, Associate Director, Assistant Directors, and Program Coordinators.

Essential Functions:
• Organize and set work priorities for meeting deadlines and completing projects.
• Coordinate the employment and termination of student workers. Monitor and evaluate work assigned. Prepare student timesheets and recaps and take to payroll.
• Prepare direct payments, purchase orders, travel authorizations, and other items.
• Compile information and prepare final copy for various statistical reports, surveys and questionnaires.
• Receive and greet visitors and provide general information regarding office and University policies and procedures. Answer telephone inquires and route calls appropriately.
• Organize and maintain Archie’s Food closet.
• Create graphic designs used for various projects for the department.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
• High school diploma/GED with minimum of three years office experience required.
• Knowledge of microcomputers, word processing, spreadsheet, and electronic mail software required.
• Knowledge of database and desktop publishing software preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task required.

OP3/$11.25/hr ($11.48/hr post introductory period)
