Job Summary

The University of Southern Indiana is seeking a full-time, benefit eligible Electronic Controls Technician. This position will check, calibrate, repair, commission, and test electronic controls and electrical systems, sensors, and equipment primarily associated with the University’s HVAC equipment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform system diagnostic testing, adjustments, and reprogramming of energy management software;
- Calibrate electronic controls and systems for the HVAC equipment and other equipment using electronic and electrical test equipment, such as multi-meters, decade boxes, ammeter probes, oscilloscopes, network terminals, and computers;
- Trouble shoot and diagnose service problems and determine procedure to repair;
- Repair or replace faulty equipment and devices;
- Assist with the commissioning of new equipment, systems, and controls; and
- Perform preventive maintenance on controls, HVAC equipment, electronic and electrical devices, and buildings.

High school diploma/GED required. Associate degree in electronics or computer technology preferred. One year of experience in servicing electronic systems, preferably with facilities management systems and HVAC controls or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and training in operating and servicing HVAC equipment and/or central boiler and chiller plant required. Experience in operating computerized facilities management software required.
