Position Summary Information
The University of Southern Indiana is seeking an Event Services Assistant for the Special Events and Scheduling Services department. This part-time position will provide onsite support for events held in the University Center and supply supervision to evening University Center student management staff.
High school diploma/GED required. Two years work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior experience in event planning, event support or coordinating multiple projects, hotel or restaurant event support highly preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person required. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in decision making with the ability to make independent judgments, especially in time sensitive situations required. Valid driver’s license required.
Standard work hours are 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Monday-Friday, mid-August through mid-May. Occasional weekend hours required. Occasional travel off campus to University sponsored events and local area required.
OP2/$10.15/hr ($10.35/hr post introductory rate)
