Position Summary Information

Job Summary

USI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic or Senior Maintenance Mechanic to perform skilled maintenance tasks with a primary emphasis on plumbing maintenance. Responsibilities will include performing basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks, and tasks related to maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and construction projects for buildings, equipment, furniture, and systems; tend to the preventive and general needs for maintenance of the University’s structures, equipment, furnishings, and systems and for various assignments for repair and rehabilitation projects; repair and/or install windows, doors, partitions, coiling components, floor tiles, cove base, stair treads, wall coverings, and roofs; perform basic painting, refinishing, and associated work to buildings, furniture, and fixtures.

Maintenance Mechanic Requirements:

High school diploma /GED required. Six months experience in a minimum of one of the following trades: carpentry, electrical, heating & air conditioning, painting, and plumbing is required. MS3 $12.00/hour (Post introductory period $12.24/hour)

Senior Maintenance Requirements:

License (residential or commercial), master license, or certification (from a University approved source) in a minimum of one of the following trades: carpentry, electrical, heating & air conditioning, painting, and plumbing plus one years related work experience OR three years related work experience in two or more trades. MS4 $13.25/hour(Post introductory period $13.52/hour)

The Maintenance or Senior Maintenance position will work Monday-Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
